As a bit or a geek, I obviously know a lot more about how my computer works than how a car does. But for some reason last night I was reading about how the internal combustion engine works, and came across this article on howstuffworks.com.

Now personally I think that the internal combustion engine is pretty much the most efficient distributed method humanity has come up with to destroy the planet. But nevertheless, I can't belive how elegant this design is! And this was invented by Nikolaus Otto in 1867 ... respect!
